West River Malas provide a range of workshops for every member of the family. We promote an all-inclusive, fun, and engaging atmosphere where students learn the art of beading and explore meditation, mindfulness, and movement as a means of promoting healthy living.

​Creative Mala Meditation Workshop

Youth (Ages: 5-15)
2 hours
Price: $30 per participant 

​​
​Join us for an introductory fun and hands-on mala-making workshop where you will create a one-of-a-kind colorful mala bracelet.
Students will use all five senses to taste, smell, learn, and make their very own mala bracelet. 
​Mala bracelets are handcrafted tools designed to help you focus, inspire action, and support healthy living. ​ We will create a fresh and relaxed atmosphere through the use of essential oils, calming music, tea sharing, and inviting imaginative conversation. Participants will learn about color connections, setting goals, and how to string and create their very own bracelet. To complete the experience we will cleanse each mala and engage is a short meditative breathing exercise. 

Participants can choose their mala kit at the beginning of the workshop.

Creative Mala Meditation Workshop
Adults (Ages 16+)

Price: $60 per participant

​Join us for an introductory fun and interactive mala-making workshop where you will create a one-of-a-kind mala necklace. Malas necklaces are handcrafted tools designed to help center thoughts, inspire action, and support a meditative practice. Malas are perfect for those beginning the path of meditation as well as for those who already have an established personal meditation practice.

On this journey we will engage your senses by expanding and deepening you wealth of knowledge through a discussion of the origin, history, and application of the 108 Mala necklace. This workshop will help participants establish a calm and centering environment through the use of essential oils, tea sharing, and inviting open thought and conversation. Participants will select stones and charms based on their desired intentions, learn how to hand-knot their mala necklace, and how to integrate their mala necklace into their meditative practice. ​​ To complete the experience we will cleanse each mala and engage is a short meditative breathing practice. 

Participants can choose their mala kit at the beginning of the workshop.

F**K IT Mala Workshop
Adults (Ages 16+) 
*Participants under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Price: $60 per participants

Join us for a fun and slightly taboo mala-making workshop the embraces swearing as a means of self-care. Saying the F-word, or other swear words can have an immediate calming affect on our emotions and have an impact on building self-confidence. This workshop will help you unleash your beast and work towards not giving a F***K  all while making one hell of a gorgeous mala necklace. 

Malas necklaces are handcrafted tools designed to help center thoughts, inspire action, and support a meditative practice. In this unique workshop, participants are encouraged to embrace swearing as a personal mantra and a means for building emotional resilience and creative expression. On this journey we will help participants establish a relaxed, be-your-self, speak freely, and drop that four-letter-word environment through the use of essential oils, tea sharing, and inviting open thought and conversation. Participants will learn how to hand-knot their mala necklace, and how to integrate their mala necklace into their meditative practice. ​​ To complete the experience we will cleanse each mala and engage is a short meditative breathing practice.

Weekend Warrior Retreat
2 Days, 1 Night
​Price: $100

​​Step away from your busy schedule and recharge amidst the beautiful Black Hills. This two day, one night retreat incorporates yoga, mindfulness meditation, the art of beading, hiking, and local cuisine to expand our senses and deepen our connections to  our health. Are you ready to put yourself first, explore your inner warrior, and dive into your health completely: mind, body, and spirit?
Participants will begin the day with an energizing yoga session, working to feel more connected with their bodies and their breath . The afternoons will be spent reviving minds and spirits by participating in a mala-making workshop, engaging in mindfulness meditation sessions, and exploring the black hills hiking trails. Participants are required to provide their own meals and are encouraged to explore the diverse local cuisine and culture with a retreat buddy. In the evenings the group will nourish their bodies and spirits by unwinding together over a shared meal and reflecting on their shared experiences.

**Retreat Participants are required to find their own lodging and provide their own meals. West River Malas will provide local cuisine and cultural activity suggestions.
